Rupanyup bowler Matthew Anderson recently received $250 in sponsorship from the Horsham Sports & Community Club to represent Victoria in the 2014 Lawn Bowls Multi-Disability National Championships, which were held in late March.

Matthew’s triples team played in the grand final against the NSW team, but came up short and secured a silver medal for second; he was extremely proud of the result. At the tournament awards night, held at the Fitzroy Bowls club, Matt was surprised to hear he was one of several players from all states nominated for the Clover/Lester Encouragement Award, and was named the winner of the Encouragement Award which recognises future potential. We wish him all the best in future competitions!
