Lauren Tink started playing Ultimate Frisbee during the Netball off season to keep fit, two years later she is representing Australia in the World Ultimate U23 Championships, in London.
Horsham Sports & Community Club recently sponsored Lauren to help her achieve her dream.
Lauren, in her last year of studying Batchelor of Psychical Education in Ballarat, grew up on a farm near Serviceton. She was instantly hooked on the sport and was soon chosen to play for Australia. “It was an honor and privilege to play for my country and to wear the Australian coat of arms on my chest. It really was an experience of a life time!”
Overall the team ended up finishing 4th in the tournament, Canada beat them by 1 goal!
“From this experience I have had more opportunities arise as I have just recently been asked to play for Australia later this year in the Asia-Oceanic Ultimate Championships in Hong Kong” Lauren said.
